The Napa Wine Walk
Tips for Napa Valley Visitors and the Napa Wine Walk Idea
Mick's Napa Valley Online website offered information ranging from Napa Valley history, restaurants, lodging, and even a live link to the Napa River flood stages during excessive rain storms.
Napa Valley Online also listed downtown tasting rooms. The information you see here has not been updated for years. Mick envisioned a project called The Napa Wine Walk that would guide visitors to various tasting rooms and offer coupons. At that time there were fewer than ten tasting rooms.
“As Mick became intrigued with QR codes, he approached the Downtown Business Association, individual Napa wine merchants and the Napa Valley Arts Council about using QR codes to attract visitors. At that time, just a tiny fraction of tasting rooms existed compared to 2021. The business association did not see the utility; however a number of businesses began using QR codes. On the other hand, the Arts Council was quite excited about these new QR codes and began using them almost immediately the way museums rely on the codes today to explain the art in front of a patron.”

The 1:05 Pause
Pause alone, pause with friends, pause with the world
“The 1:05 Pause” project was an idea Mick had to get people to take time out of their busy work day and just pause, or meditate briefly to relax and clear their minds.” He envisioned that people would sign up for a reminder and join others around the world in taking a relaxing break from their computers or other work. Mick’s focus was always on connecting people around common endeavors.”

Beyond Peak Oil and Economic Collapse
When we started this website in 2005, the goal was to help people prepare for Peak Oil, Climate Change and Economic Collapse. Forget the preparing part. We're there and it's likely to get worse. This isn't a doom and gloom perspective. It's simply avoiding denial and accepting things as they are and as they're likely to become, unless the efforts of millions of people around the world come to fruition and the political, economic and social systems of our planet make a 180 degree turn and start serving humanity and the planet instead of destroying them.
