The Napa Valley Wine Walk: Preparing for Your Visit and What to Expect

We apologize that the wine walk has not been updated for several years, but many of the sites are still available to visit. We hope the tour offers an opportunity for you to  discover more opportunities for tasting and exploring along the way.
Downtown Napa, the heart of Napa Valley's biggest and liveliest town, has a large and concentrated collection of wine tasting locations. Currently there are 28 of them, and more are on the way. On the Napa WineWalk you can walk from one tasting room to another in minutes (sometimes it's right next door), and experience wines from more than 200 different wineries.

Note: We used to recommend several routes you could follow. But now there are so many tasting locations in Napa that a specific route is no longer feasible. Just come on downtown, turn in any direction, and start walking. Chances are it won't be more than a few steps before you encounter your first, very enjoyable, stop.

WEATHER

Napa's Weather - one of the many reasons we live here

Napa has a Mediterranean climate with cool, wet winters and very warm, dry summers. Napa is far enough inland to escape much of the fog that frequently enters San Francisco Bay during the summer. The fog that does get this far simply keeps us cool and is very much appreciated.
The city is 19 feet (6m) above sea level at a latitude of 38.30°N and a longitude of 122.28°W.
In January, average temperatures range from 58.5 °F (14.7 °C) to 38.9 °F (3.8 °C). In July, from 82.1 °F (27.8 °C) to 55.0 °F (12.8 °C).
Keep in mind those are averages. It can get as warm as 100° F or higher in July or August.
There are an average of 25.3 days with highs of 90 °F (32 °C) or higher and an average of 6.4 days with lows of 32 °F (0 °C) or lower.
Average annual precipitation in Napa is 24.84 inches (631 mm) and there are an average of 64 days annually with measurable precipitation.
In short, it's not going to rain here most days of the year, and even when it does, it's seldom a big deal. Come anytime.
